10-year-old Flora Belle Buckman, a self-avowed cynic and lover of comic books, is just the right person to help a squirrel in need. After all, her favorite comic has prepared her for all the terrible things that can happen to a person. The squirrel — which Flora names Ulysses — has been born anew, with powers of strength, flight, and misspelled poetry. As Flora teaches her poetry-writing friend what it means to be a hero, the girl’s life changes in unexpected ways.
Disney’s new family adventure Flora & Ulysses is based on the award-winning children’s novel of the same name by best-selling author Kate DiCamillo. The original movie is now streaming on Disney+.

Look no further! The 10 best entries of each team will be published on the Ulysses blog and be read by thousands of viewers.
The authors of the 20 best entries also are invited to listen in when best-selling author Kate DiCamillo and screenwriter and Emmy nominee Brad Copeland discuss the movie — exclusive, live, and with the opportunity for a Q&A. Additionally, all winners will get Ulysses for free for a whole year.
We are proud to announce that Kate DiCamillo and Brad Copeland have agreed to be part of the jury. They will read the 10 best entries of each team and handpick the winners themselves. Ever wanted to be read by two well-known writers? This is your chance!
